I cannot believe because of a piece of land, family members do not talk to each other and some did not come back to see their parents. And I am looking at some one who sends his sons and daughter to religious school.
I pity that all the prayers are not counted.
I pity that the younger forget all the deeds that the elder has done earlier. No more are the memories of the elder taking care of the younger, the sending off to school, staying late nights to take care when the younger is sick, how the elder tries to send the younger to school etc.
I just wish that my kids will look beyond the harta, materialistic things. As far as I am concerned, they are my harta and if I cannot managed my harta, then it would be the saddest day in my life.

Pak Long
Last Thursday 30th October 2008, I received an sms from my sister that Pak Long is critical at Hospital Seremban.
Many things came into my mind at that time, and one of them is we did not visit his family during Hari Raya this year.
Being the 30th October, the day is also the 30th Syahwal 1429H, the last day of Hari Raya. Maybe I should give him a visit, nevertheless.
I reached Hospital Besar at 3pm and left at 4.15 pm.
Pak Long died at 5.15pm the same evening.
Innalillahi wainna hi ro ji un. May he RIP.

Victoria Institution
A school with great history.
Before there were MRSM, SMSes and other boarding schools, VI is the place to be. It still is for those in KL who does not wish to go to boarding schools.
But then again, you can go to the best school but if you do not take the opportunity to learn and the opportunity that the school has to offer, might as well go to a normal school.
I did not expect to become what I am now even though many believe that I would. But to me the gathering of former Victorians are not to gauge where you are in the relation to your former classmates or form mates but to exchange latest news and views and to reminisce the good old times which has been repeated so many times that if it is on a record player, the player would go bust by now.
The message is, it is not the school which is important but the students. The school is a stage and the players are the students. We decide on the play.

The pressure is always on the women
The missus told me of her friend having an affair with a married person. I know personally a woman having an affair with a married man, who is willing to accept her as a second wife. One of my friends in school, a girl, cut off her engagement to her boyfriend as she does not in the marriage institution (her parents divorced). The funny part is she is extremely close to her boy friend (former fiancee) still.
One thing that the women should know that like any other animals, the males would like to disseminate their seeds to as many partners as possible.
God make it balanced by having the females being very selective in choosing their partners, producing the best off spring and most likely to survive.
Back to the issue again, I do believe that the men that I have mentioned above are thinking not with the head on their shoulders. Hey, like the PKR man who was caught having sex with China Dolls said, if it is a sedekah,why refuse!. Exactly a male mentality trying to reproduce as much off spring as possible, better if free of charge. The British have a saying "Why buy when you can get it for free".
I have a male friend, who happens to be one of my better friends, who is until now unmarried and enjoying free items. But then again, happiness of having a spouse that you respect and children who are not only your off springs but double up as your best friends value is priceless.

Males from Negri Sembilan
Negri practices Adat Perpatih which gives the harta pesaka to the women.
The tanah adat cannot be sold and to be handed down from mother to daughter and so on. Therefore the land itself has no monetary value and the males cannot own any of the tanah adat but can live in the wife's house on tanah adat.
Many male relatives have ventured out from Negri even before Merdeka and many resides in Kuala Lumpur.
The women are also venturing out following the males and what is left is tanah adat not being cultivated and left unattended.
The men and women most likely, like me, marry spouses from other states and what is left are memories of the place, which will not be shared by the later generations.

The Malacca government justifying their conferment of a Datukship to the Bollywood actor for his contribution to Malacca.
He danced in front of A Famosa and several other places in a few of his films and that indirectly promotes Malacca.
Wow, I watched these movies said being filmed in Malacca. I, even as a Malaysian, cannot remember that they danced in Malacca, how do you expect non Malaysians to know.
Why do not they confer Datukship to Juhi Chawla or Kajol as well?

I noticed that many aligned with one party is almost always not hear the other side of the story.
It is strange that while the heads are okay with each other, it is almost always the followers who argue.
Politicians being one are always looking for issues to get people excited, but we can not let our lives be affected by these politicians.
