Relationships

Humans are easily affected by their emotions. These sudden bursts clouds all logics and may, if not looked at seriously, destroy the relationship that takes years to develop.

Even worse, for siblings, kins and families, the failure to think rationally may destroy the memories of the good times when things are well.

During the Hari Raya holidays, my daughter was disappointed with her eldest brother for being haughty and non friendly. As a father, and having seen the effect of siblings do not talk to each other for trivial and petty issues (even it involves land matters!), I see the matter as serious. Gone are the memories when the siblings gone through hardship together, the elder taking care of the younger and the joy that they share during festivals.

My rationale is very simple, do not get the bad, say 20%, issues eclipses the other 80% good qualities of person. If Tun Mahathir can talk to Tok Guru Nik Aziz, Mr Lim Kit Siang can come to Pak Lah's Hari Raya open house and be civilized about it, why can't we?

Interesting note that I read some time ago :-
A woman will think of the good things in a soured relationship but a man is exactly the opposite.
